The August Wilson Center Lab is a pop-up research center and day/night event series where the public can generate objects and activities with artists whose work affirms and projects the futures of people of African descent. It takes place during the 2017 Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, PA.

Performance: If I Die, I'm a Legend: A Tale of Orisha, Hoodoo and #BlackLivesMatter with Boom Concepts

Audience-activated rituals at 12PM, 2:30PM, 6:30PM. #OHB is a character investigation of the street deities featured in BOOM Concepts’ physical theater piece “If I Die I’m A Legend, A Tale of Orisha, Hoodoo, and #blacklivesmatter".  This two day character investigation will provide the cast with a laboratory environment to explore how theme and icons of Orisha, Hoodoo, and #blacklivesmatter are presented explicitly in each character. 

Each performative episode will focus intensely on the specific traits, ideas, and worlds shared by the street deities.  Activities will include audience activated ritualThis performance will be happening simultaneously with an activation at AS220 in Providence. RI.
